My name is Brian Vincent and I live in Ipswich, Suffolk. Having been made
redundant in 2004 I decided to retire early, allowing time to enjoy less
stressful pursuits, in particular my hobbies. One of these is photography,
which I took up as a teenager back in the early 60's.
My first pictures were taken with a Brownie 127, but it was not long before
I switched to an older 120-format camera, the lens of which I also used in a
homemade horizontal-style enlarger. The lamp-house, I fondly recall, was
made from a large coffee tin, which had quite an aroma after a little use!
Other exploits included the manufacture of homemade blueprint paper - a process
I had to abandon on discovering that it gave negative prints from a negative!
In my last year at school I converted to 35mm, to which I remained faithful
until the redundancy event, when I purchased my first digital camera.
This website is basically an extension of my hobby. If I can also earn
a bit of beer money that will be a bonus, but I won't hold my breath!
