Sizes refer to the overall paper size consumed. The image as set out on
the paper is usually smaller, partly to assist with optionally adding a
mount-board, but also to achieve a balanced look within your chosen frame size.
Whilst basic image adjustments (if required) are included in the above
prices, advanced adjustments will be quoted extra.
Please be realistic :-
A3 should work well with most good quality digital cameras
A2 is pushing the boundaries even with high quality digital cameras
A1 will not bear close-up scrutiny, but is OK if viewed at a distance
The debate between matt & gloss papers will run forever.
Matt is generally considered to give a softer & more artistic feel,
making it the first choice of many people. Gloss, satin & lustre
tend to be more vibrant, and have the technical advantage of being able
to reproduce dark colours more faithfully. Their disadvanatge
however, is surface reflections under some lighting conditions.

Mount-Board (borders)
The cardboard border optionally surrounding a print is termed 'mount-board'.
If required, we can provide these larger mount-boards, with rectangular
aperture custom cut bevel-edged. Obviously, this increases the
overall size of the finished picture, which needs to be matched to
the picture frame size. For info on ready-made frames sizes
& typical prices, see Articles ~ Frames

Canvas Prints
| |
|
|
|
|
Canvas prints have a special appeal, although are more expensive to print.
If you choose to have it stretched over a frame however, overall cost is often
less than for a conventional picture, once framing
& perhaps mount-board costs are taken into account.

High Specification frames
The picture frames purchasable from high street stores fulfil the purpose of being
affordable and functional.

Note: There are many other specialist photo-frame suppliers in the market,
but in our opinion Ultimat are among the best and although not cheap, are
nonetheless reasonably priced.

Other Mounting Options
| |
|
Using an industrial vacuum hot-mount press machine, photos can be
|
|
|
bonded onto mount board or other solid surfaces such as MDF board. Bonding can
be with or without a border. Bonding with a border is especially suitable if
using mount board.
|
|
|
laminated with a thin protective film. This a professional process which should
not be confused with simple laminating machines. The finished effect is similar
to a lustre paper, and allows the photo to be mounted in a frame without glass.
